Netflix series “Who We Were Running From?” – success or failure?

Great news for fans of Melisa Sözen! The actress’s new Netflix series “Who We Were Running From” premiered on the digital platform Netflix and quickly rose to the top of the list of all foreign-language shows available there.

“Who We Were Running From? / Biz Kimden Kaçıyorduk Anne” received 35.89 million watching hours, placing it first among all non-English language series on the service globally, according to official data from Netflix. The series topped the charts in 78 different countries around the world, and viewers watched 55.3 million hours of it in total over the course of two weeks.

This corresponds to the previous successful Turkish productions on the Netflix platform, which have been provided with official data – “Another Self” and “Şahmaran”. The project is still in the top charts and may exceed these results.

The lead actress Melisa Sözen topped the list of the most searched Turkish actors on the IMDB website, ranking 1,382 among all actors represented in the global film database. However, she was unable to achieve the result of Ayça Ayşin Turan, who ranked 42nd after the release of the series “The Protector.”

The producer of the series “Who We Were Running From?” Irfan Sahin, announced that despite the huge success of the show on Netflix, they currently have no plans to shoot a second season as the series is based on a literary work that has logically ended and does not allow for a continuation.
