The 2022/23 season proved to be extremely disappointing for Fox TV. The channel couldn’t secure any major hits. However, in the new television season of 2023/24, there are several shows that might become serious contenders for success.
Among the TV series that Fox TV is preparing for the new television season, the following shows stand out:
Çağatay Ulusoy
“Ruthless / Gaddar.” Starring Çağatay Ulusoy. Produced by Ay Yapım. The series will tell the story of a young man named Levent, who joins the army, leaving behind his beloved woman and family. He will find himself in an unexpected situation and transform into a ruthless person. Directed by Sinan Öztürk (Çukur, The Bad Penny). The script is written by Hürer Ebeoğlu. The famous singer Erkin Koray’s song “Ruthless” will also be used in the series. Interestingly, initially, producers negotiated with Aras Bulut İynemli for the role, but Çağatay eventually took on the part. It’s said that the show has a very strong script, reminiscent of the timeless story of Count of Monte Cristo and Ezel.
Another love / Bambaşka Biri
“Completely Different / Bambaşka Biri.” Starring Burak Deniz and Hande Erçel. Produced by TIMS&B. The series will premiere on September 11, a Monday. Written by Ethem Özışık and directed by Neslihan Yeşilyurt, it will tell the gripping story of a serial killer investigation. At the center of the plot is the story of prosecutor Leyla, who will be on the trail of the maniac. Burak Deniz will portray two different personalities on screen. One of them is the character of journalist and producer Kenan. On the other hand, he will also appear before the audience as Doğan – an eccentric and cold-blooded killer suffering from multiple psychopathic personality disorders. Interestingly, the series was initially called “Two Strangers,” but the creators had to change the title because it turned out that the rights to it belonged to another channel. Fans are eagerly awaiting the series, as the duo of Burak and Hande left a very positive impression six years ago with their work in the series “Love Knows No Words.”
Kızıl Goncalar
“Red Buds / Kızıl Goncalar.” Starring Özgü Namal, Özcan Deniz, and Mert Yazıcıoğlu. Produced by Gold Film. Audiences are promised a family saga about love and family values. After a long hiatus, Özgü Namal returns to the set. The actress will play the role of Meryem, a cleaner. Özcan Deniz plays the role of Dr. Levent. Different people from different worlds. So where do the paths of Levent and Meryem intersect in this life? They both carry a secret from the past. Turkish viewers love family stories, especially when their favorite actors are involved, so this could very well be one of the leaders of the television season.
Bonds of Destiny / Kader Bağları
“Destiny Bonds / Kader bağları.” Starring Ayça Ayşin Turan and Serkan Çayoğlu. Produced by Sureç Film. The series is filmed in Montenegro, Urfa, and Istanbul. Directed by Benal Tairi. The script is written by Sema Ali Erol, Mahir Erol, Türküler Özgül, and Redife Zerener. It’s the story of the passionate love between two young people from two different worlds, Kerem and Sevda, who accidentally meet in Montenegro and fall in love with each other. Upon returning to Turkey, their relationship will face a serious test of endurance. It is expected to be a beautiful love story with elements of drama.
Ugly / Çirkin
“Ugly / Çirkin.” Starring Bahar Şahin. Produced by 25 Film and Medyapım. Directed by Merve Girgin. The series will tell the story of a girl named Meryem, whom everyone calls ugly. The girl will have to go through a difficult path and transform both internally and externally. The show’s preparation has been postponed until January due to difficulties in casting.
Hudutsuz Sevda
“Boundless Love / Hudutsuz Sevda.” Starring Miray Daner and Deniz Can Aktas in the lead roles. Produced by MedYapım and the producer Bahadır Özdener, who is also the scriptwriter. No Turkish television season is complete without dramas of revenge and love. At the heart of the story is the tale of a young man, Halil Ibrahim, who lost his father due to a blood feud. Twenty years later, he returns to his hometown, where his beloved awaits him. However, when the enemies who killed his father take away the last person dear to him, vengeance becomes his only path. The series is set to premiere on September 21.
Dirty Basket / Kirli Sepeti
“Dirty Basket / Kirli Sepeti.” Starring Ayça Bingöl, Cansu Tosun, Serkay Tütüncü, Halil İbrahim Ceyhan, and Ceren Moray in the lead roles. Produced by MedYapım. It’s the story of housemaids working in a luxurious mansion. Each day seems the same until tragedy strikes, leading to arguments, intrigue, and betrayal. Eventually, a young journalist intervenes, believing that the tragedy was not accidental. Soon, he’ll uncover the dark secrets of the mansion’s residents. It appears to be another attempt by producer Fatih Aksoy to create a show in the vein of the famous series “Devious Maids.”
Yabani
“Wild Heart / Yabani.” Starring Halit Özgür Sarı and Simay Barlas in the lead roles. Produced by MedYapım. The series will premiere on September 12. In this drama depicting the clash of two worlds, viewers will witness the story of a boy abducted from a wealthy family in childhood. The young man, raised on the streets, reunites with his family after many years. However, he must choose what is closer to his heart: blood ties or the bonds of the street brotherhood?
Furkan Andıç
“Stars Far from Me / Yıldızlar Bana Uzak.” Starring Furkan Andıç and Burcu Kıratlı in the lead roles. Produced by O3 Medya and Ortaks Yapım, known for the series “Love for Rent.” The script for the series, which explores the consequences of an accidental murder and touches on themes of love, justice, and conscience, was written by Ercan Uğur.
