The 39th International Audiovisual Content Market, MIPCOM, concluded in Cannes on October 19th. The exhibition attracted over 11,000 representatives from 100 countries worldwide. Turkish series and their stars had a significant presence at the event.

This year, Turkish cinema showcased its projects, ranging from those already successful to those in progress or just starting on television. The Turkish screen stars, along with producers, directors, and writers, presented these shows.

The series “Golden Boy,” featuring Afra Saraçoğlu and Mert Ramazan Demir in leading roles, stood out by being sold for record-breaking amounts. The cost per episode, approximately 700,000 dollars, set a record for Turkish series.

The series “Family,” starring  Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Serenay Sarıkaya, sold to 80 countries worldwide, became the top-selling Turkish show in Cannes.

The stars of the series “Another Love,” Burak Deniz and Hande Erçel, represented the show at the exhibition. Timur Savcı, the show’s producer, announced that they already have a plot ready for the second season. However, the fate of the series is yet to be determined, as its ratings in Turkey are relatively low.

Onur Tuna presented two of his projects simultaneously— the new series “My Beautiful Life” by Fox TV and Ay Yapim, and the digital series “Poison Ivy,” where his partner was Burçin Terzioğlu.

Interesting information came from Spanish producers planning to adapt well-known Turkish series. Ay Yapim, in collaboration with the Spanish company Secuoya Studios, is preparing a Spanish remake of the series “Bold and Beautiful” for Atresmedia. Medyapim and The Mediapro Studio announced the preparation of a Spanish version of the series “The girl named Feriha.”
