The series “Golden Boy” has lost a portion of its audience due to changes in the script
The series “Golden Boy,” which airs on Friday evenings on Star TV, has garnered significant attention due to a decline in ratings in its second season. Some viewers have opted out of watching the series, evident in the decrease in ratings. Nevertheless, the show still maintains a strong audience and continues to receive substantial support.
The second season witnessed notable changes in the script, introducing new characters. However, these alterations failed to satisfy the audience. A crucial source of criticism was the transformation of characters created in the first season into different personalities in the new season.
As a result, many viewers stopped following the project, and the decline in ratings is associated with this situation. Nonetheless, “Golden Boy” remains robust, leading in the total category and consistently finishing second on Friday evenings in the AB and ABC1 groups.
Criticism toward the series script, featuring Afra Saraçoğlu and Mert Ramazan Demir in lead roles, has subsided. While those who left the series have not returned, current viewers seem less concerned about the disparities between the old and new situations of the characters.
Many viewers express criticism on social media platforms, stating, “Everything was different in the first season, it was not like this…” However, it appears that viewers are becoming accustomed to this situation.
It is worth noting that the series’ ratings remain high, maintaining significant popularity among the audience. Producers have heeded the criticism, bringing back the scriptwriter of the first season, Mehmet Barış Güngor. This move may help address script issues in the near future.
