Sinem Kobal Returns to the Screen

Renowned Turkish actress Sinem Kobal is set to make a comeback to the big screen after a lengthy hiatus. For the past seven years, Kobal has dedicated herself to her family—marriage to actor Kenan İmirzalıoğlu and raising their two children.

Kobal’s new project will be the lead role in the film “Everything Begins with Mercury,” based on the book by Ayşe Balıbey. The actress will portray Elif, a cheerful young woman who dreams of a career as a war correspondent, but currently works as an astrologer for a magazine.

The film will be produced by Sky Film, with Emre Oskay as the producer, Ayşe Balıbey, the book’s author, as the screenwriter, and Ali Balcı as the director. Filming is scheduled to begin in August this year.

Recently, Kobal made a guest appearance in the series “Encounters,” marking her first screen appearance in a long time. Now, she is preparing for a full-fledged return to cinema.

Negotiations are currently underway for the male lead role, who will partner with Sinem Kobal in the film.
