Preparations for the second season of the historical series “Conqueror of Jerusalem Salah ad-Din” (Selahaddin Eyyubi) have begun. The series is produced by Akli Film for the state channel TRT 1, and filming is scheduled to commence in mid-August 2024.

The series is one of five projects set to continue in the new television season on TRT. In the second season, Sedat İnci will take over the director’s chair from Emir Khalilzade, who directed the first season.

According to well-known journalist Birsen Altuntaş, Ozan Dolunay has joined the cast of the series. He is expected to portray Balian of Ibelin, a historical figure famously played by Orlando Bloom in the 2005 Hollywood film “Kingdom of Heaven.” This addition to the cast promises to enhance the drama of the series and attract more viewer interest.

In the new season, the creators plan to significantly expand the storyline related to Byzantium. This decision may be driven by the rich history of interactions between the Byzantine Empire and the Muslim world during the Crusades. Such development promises viewers a deeper immersion into the historical context and new exciting plot twists.

Following the departure of actress Dilin Döğer, the main actor Uğur Güneş will have a new partner. This change in the cast could bring fresh dynamics to the development of characters and their relationships, potentially drawing additional audience interest.
