Orhan Pamuk to Star in the Series Adaptation of His Novel “The Museum of Innocence”
The work of the renowned writer and Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk, “The Museum of Innocence,” will be adapted into a 9-episode series for the digital platform Netflix. The project’s director will be Zeynep Günay (“Priceless Time,” “Evermore,” “The Club”),
and the screenplay was developed in close collaboration between the writer himself and Ertan Kurtulan. It is expected that Orhan Pamuk will also appear in the series, set in the 1970s.
The role of the main character, Kemal, may be played by Selahattin Paşalı, according to preliminary reports. Auditions for the roles of Kemal’s beloved Füsun and his fiancée Sibel involved many young actresses. The final decision on casting the actor for Kemal’s role will be made with Orhan Pamuk’s input, after which the actresses for the female roles will be confirmed.
