Gupse Özay Signs Major Deal with Disney Plus

Disney Plus is gaining momentum in the Turkish film and series sector. As part of its new strategy focusing on high-quality content, the platform initially acquired the film “Umami Boiling Point,” directed and produced by Emre Şahin, featuring Burak Deniz and Öykü Karayel, and produced by Karga Seven Pictures.

The second major deal Disney Plus has signed is with Gupse Ozay, known as a comedy genre screenwriter and actress. The successful actress and screenwriter will create an 8-episode series titled “Platonic Love” for Disney Plus, produced by Muzaffer Yıldırım. The series, telling the story of two brothers, is set to air in March.

According to unofficial sources, Disney Plus is also negotiating a large-scale exclusive agreement with Gupse Ozay and NuLoock Production, in addition to the series.
