The creators of Forbidden Love sued the Romanian broadcaster
According to Romanian and Turkish media on January 30, Ece Yörenç and Melek Gençoğlu sued the Romanian broadcaster Antena 1, accusing it of violating intellectual property. The screenwriters who worked on the creation of the famous series Forbidden Love / Aşk-ı Memnu believe that their rights were violated by the creators of the Romanian series The Forbidden Fruit, which is an adaptation of the work of the same name by Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil.
The creators of the Romanian project insist that in their work they relied on the novel, while there are several successful adaptations of it all over the world. However, Mrs. Yörenç and Mrs. Gençoğlu insist that the producers used their script, that led them to sue them.
Considering that the violation of the law is happening right now, the court decided to suspend the show in Romania as a preventive measure. Hearings will take place on March 27
