After numerous speculations, rumors and false hopes, fans of Çağatay Ulusoy received good news. The actor has become the protagonist of a new large-scale historical series, which will air in May next year!

Çağatay Ulusoy and Afra Saraçoğlu became the protagonists of the new series Yeşilçam for the digital platform Blu TV, which is the leader of the Turkish digital market. The CEO of the platform personally announced the start of work on his biggest TV show and the biggest project in the history of digital TV series in Turkey. He said that the project was being prepared for a long time, and they are very excited about the upcoming filming.

An official agreement with Çağatay was signed back in May. It is curious that the new project is being prepared by ES Film and its producer Yusuf Esenkal. This company is also preparing the series “Barbaros”. We remind you that the actor refused to work on this show. It seems that Çağatay simply moved from one project of the company to another, more promising one. All the information about his new TV shows, which had been on social media all summer and autumn, turned out to be a smokescreen.

An agreement with Afra Saraçoğlu, who will become Çağatay’s co-star, was concluded earlier this week. We are also promised some very interesting actors to join the project. It is known that Rıza Kocaoğlu, who worked with Çağatay in the series Insider / Içerde, held negotiations in the office of ES Film, at the same time as Afra, as evidenced by the photos of both actors taken in the office.

Çağatay Ulusoy will play a Yeşilçam-era film producer named Semih Ateş. The slogan of the project is “I make a movie, patients get better, seasons change”. The action will take place in the 1960s in the golden era of Turkish cinema. It will show the other side of a glamorous life that has blood, sweat, tears and success. Filming starts in two months, with the series premiering in May 2021. Unlike Netflix, Blu TV releases one episode per week.

The screenplay was written by Levent Cantek and Volkan Sümbül. Notably, Çağatay had already worked with the latter in the series Insider and The Protector. The script for two seasons of the series, which will consist of 10 episodes each, is ready. Blu TV makes a big bet on this project, which should become its trademark. Director Çağan Irmak is considered one of the best in Turkey. He prefers to direct in a more American manner and has recently worked mainly in feature-length films. Çağatay and Çağan have been waiting for their collaboration since they met at the 2015 Rome Film Festival, and finally many fans’ dreams have come true.

Preparations for the production of the first historic series of Blu TV have already begun. Casting and rehearsal are now under way.
