One by one Turkish stars are leaving television and moving to digital platforms. Next year we will see a very interesting duet of Tolga Sarıtaş and Engin Akyürek in the new Netflix movie.

Engin Akyürek, who has just completed work on the successful TV series Ambassador’s Daughter / Sefirin Kızı, is not going to return to Turkish television yet. As it became known, the actor will work on the film that will be released on Netflix.

The movie Good luck / Yolun Açık Olsun, is produced by Lanistar Medya, known for the previous successful project Miracle in the cell N7 starring Aras Bulut İynemli. By the way, the same company is also shooting the film Love tactics / Aşk Taktikleri starring Demet Ozdemir and Şükrü Özyıldız. The director is Mehmet Ada Oztekin, who worked on the series Kuzey Guney, Bodrum Fairy Tale, Ferhat and Sirin, as well as the films Miracle in the cell N7 and Love me strongly.

Of course, the fans were very interested in who would become Engin Akyürek’s co-star in this project. However, as the experience of previous hits on Netflix (Miracle in the cell N7 and Paper Lives) has shown, viewers do not only like standard love stories. It looks like the producers decided to surprise us with a male tandem. Engin Akyürek’s co-star in the movie  will be his friend and colleague Tolga Sarıtaş.

The plot is not yet known, but it is assumed that it will be an adaptation of the book of the same title by Hakan Evrensel, which tells about the friendship between the captain of the Turkish army Saleh and the conscript Kerim, which they carried through the years. By the way, Hakan Evrensel is also the author of the script for the popular war film “Anatolian Eagles”.

Filming will begin in mid-July. The movie will be released on Netflix next year.
