Romanian remake of the series ‘Insider / İçerde’
Exciting news for fans of the series “Insider”. Five years after the release of the Ay Yapim show on Turkish screens, Romanian filmmakers decided to make their own remake of the hit. What do we know about the project right now?
The series “Insider / İçerde” starring Çağatay Ulusoy and Aras Bulut İynemli, has become a real phenomenon on the Turkish air. The project of the Ay Yapim TV company significantly influenced the further career of the actors, also remaining in the memory of the audience with its unusual plot and quality of filming.
The series ended on the 39th episode, becoming a lucky exception in a series of endless crime sagas that have three or four seasons each. The reason for such an unusual final at the top of the ratings was the decision of Çağatay Ulusoy to sign a contract with Netflix and leave the cast. Without him, the story would lose its meaning, and producer Kerem Çatay put an end to the broadcast of the super hit. However, he didn’t lose money, “Insider” sold well outside of Turkey, leading the ratings in Georgia, Chile and showing excellent results in other countries.
It is not surprising that the original show was watched with interest abroad, but foreign filmmakers thought about the possibility of creating their own series based on the script of “Insider”. As it became known, the Romanian TV channel PRO TV is preparing a new show, which is a remake of the popular Turkish project. The Turkish original had already been screened in Romania with great success, prompting the producers to buy the rights to a local adaptation. Perhaps in the coming years, remakes of the Turkish hit will also appear in other countries, the company Ay Yapim is currently negotiating to sell adaptation rights to Mexico and digital platforms.
