Top Gun

On Monday, July 25, ES Film’s series for TRT Dijital “Free / Hür”, which is a free adaptation of the famous film “Top Gun”, started filming in Eskişehir.

The military pilots of the Turkish Air Force’s elite unit are in the center of the story. Each episode will be dedicated to a separate operation. The creators decided not to name the enemy, but everyone understands what kind of forces they are talking about. Directed by Ekin Pandır. Screenwriters İlker Arslan and Barış Erdoğan spent a lot of time with combat pilots, trying to convey the specifics of their work.

The series’ cameraman, Ugur Içbak, will use a completely new technique for filming fighter battles. The creators relied on the visuals that were used in the second film “Top Gun: Maverick” just opened in theaters around the world. Preparation of the technical part took 5 months.

The main role in the series will be played by Hilmi Cem İntepe. Deniz Çatalbaş, known to viewers from the series “Backstreets” is his co-star in the show. She will play a character named Nazli. Zeynep Tuğçe Bayat and Taner Ertürkler are also in the cast. It is planned to shoot 10 episodes of 60 minutes each. Filming is supported by the Turkish Air Force, the show will feature real footage of the work of Turkish aces.
