Great news for fans of Demet Özdemir and Engin Akyürek. The actors are in talks to star in the new Fox TV series ‘My Name is Farah’. What do we know about the show right now?

Aslı Enver, who has signed a contract with the digital platform Disney Plus, starred in the platform series “Quest” in the summer, where her co-star was Mehmet Günsür. Under the terms of the contract, the actress had to appear in any Fox TV series, which is also owned by Disney. Aslı’s choice fell on O3 Medya’s series “My name is Farah / Benim Adım Farah”, which is an adaptation of the American series “The Cleaning Lady”.  Ozan Akbaba was considered for the main male role in the show.

However, Aslı suddenly refused to work in the show. As it became known, the 38-year-old actress is preparing to become a mother. She recently had a modest wedding with her boyfriend Berkin Gokbudak and, despite the persuasion of the producers, decided not to risk her health and refused to shoot.

The producers turned to Demet Özdemir, who has a similar contract with Disney. According to the well-known journalist Birsen Altuntas, the actress was very warm to the proposal. Ozan Akbaba, due to the extension of the series ‘The City Doctor ‘, was unable to free himself in time to shoot a new show. As it became known, the producers turned to Engin Akyürek, with whom they worked in the series “The Ambassador’s Daughter”, “Escape”, as well as the film “Godspeed”.

If Engin Akyürek and Demet Özdemir accept the offer, they will become co-stars in a series that tells the story of a doctor who fled with her sick son from a war-torn country to Turkey and became a cleaner for a mafia clan, cleaning up crime scenes. Engin will play the role of the head of the mafia, who falls in love with the Demet’s character. Filming will begin in a month and a half.
