Berrak Tüzünataç has won against the Turkish judicial system
Unexpectedly, the paparazzi were found guilty of violating Turkish actress Berrak Tüzünataç’s right to privacy by the international court system, which had sided with her.
In a decision against Turkey, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) acknowledged that the actress Berrak Tüzünataç’s right to respect for her private life had been violated. After making futile attempts to get justice through Turkish courts, the actress filed an appeal with the ECHR in 2018. The issue involves images from the actress’s patio that were broadcast on television without her consent in 2010.
Both the Civil Court and the Constitutional Court of Turkey rejected compensation claims made by Berrak Tüzünataç. However, the ECHR recognized the actress’s righteousness and ruled in her favor. The actress expressed on her social media that she was happy with the ECHR’s ruling and that she felt a glimmer of hope for justice after it finally arrived, albeit rather belatedly.
