Can Ayça Ayşin Turan and Serkan Çayoğlu save their show?
Due to poor ratings, the new Turkish television series “Grapes of Love,” starring Ayça Ayşin Turan and Serkan Çayoğlu, may be cancelled. It still has a slim chance, though, because of its global reach.
On Saturday evenings, two highly popular series, “Mountain of Hearts” and “For my family,” are broadcast on Turkish television. Achieving high ratings in such competition is challenging. Therefore, the team behind the series “Grapes of Love” needs to put in significant effort to stay on the air.
Thanks to the participation of well-known Turkish stars Ayça Ayşin Turan and Serkan Çayoğlu, social media reports that the series has garnered the most interest abroad. Foreign followers of the stars may be able to save their project.
Similar situations were seen in the past season. Thanks to the support of Akin Akinözü’s fans, the series “Trap” was sold abroad and, despite low ratings in Turkey, lasted for 26 episodes. Also, last season, the series “Poison Ivy” featuring Neslihan Atagül and Kadir Doğulu managed to stay on Star TV due to international sales.
Many people were dissatisfied by the “Grapes of Love” series’ first episode’s ratings. Fox TV’s choice, however, might be influenced by the intense engagement of overseas followers. Given that Fox TV has five more new shows in the works, it will depend on whether the ratings of the forthcoming episodes increase.
