The situation with the popular FOX TV series “Red Roses” remains quite tense. The Turkish broadcasting regulator (RTÜK) explained the decision to take the show off the air. We also learned when viewers will see the next episode of the popular series.

In late December, the Turkish broadcasting regulator (RTÜK) fined the series “Red Roses” (“Kızıl Gonçalar”) on FOX TV 9 million Turkish liras (around 470,000 USD) and issued two warnings. The series was taken off the air for two weeks.

RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin explained the stern decision, stating that a huge number of complaints were received about this series. The question arises: Can the opinions of almost 36,000 citizens be ignored?

Şahin noted that the RTÜK team carefully monitored the series, identifying and addressing elements that could be perceived as a violation of broadcasting principles.

He emphasized that no one has the right to mock the national and religious values of Turkish society. Playing with perceptions should not lead to the humiliation of citizens, Şahin stated.

Renowned journalist Birsen Altuntaş reports that the filming of the new series “Red Roses” has resumed and is in full swing. The TV show team found new filming locations on the premises of a factory in Beykoz, and the set was reconstructed within 10 days. The new episode will air on FOX TV on January 22.
