Has Çağatay Ulusoy refused the series Kingfisher / Yalı Çapkını?

Turkish media reported that Çağatay Ulusoy  rejected the proposed script for the TV series Kingfisher / Yalı Çapkını. What will happen next? Will the actor remain in the project or will he leave?

Fans were eagerly awaiting the return of Çağatay Ulusoy to the screens with a new project. In September, Turkish media delighted them with the information that the actor had agreed with OGM Pictures to work on the TV8 series Kingfisher / Yalı Çapkını. Negotiations were held with Neslihan Atagül and Ozge Gürel as his co-stars.

However, according to the well-known journalist Birsen Altuntas, the actor did not approve of the script offered to him, and he forced to rewrite it. If Çağatay is not satisfied with the second version of the script, he will not star in the project.

Note that Çağatay Ulusoy, who studied to be a screenwriter in the United States, is known for his picky attitude about what is being offered. He took an active part in writing the series Insider, he was a creative producer and worked on the screenplay of the Netflix movie Paper Lives, and made his own short film The Birdie as a producer, screenwriter and director. By the way, last week the film won the  Newport Beach Film Festival award in the USA. No wonder, his standards are pretty high.

A year earlier, Çağatay did not approve of the script for the series Barbarossa: The Sword of the Mediterranean Sea and left the project. After a year and a half, the producers admitted that the actor was right, completely replacing the script group and starting the story from scratch. After reading the script for the series Trial / Yargi, he praised its quality and accepted the job, however, given that he had too many other projects, he was ready to work only one season. This did not suit Ay Yapim company, and Kaan Urgancıoğlu took the role. And here Çağatay was right, the series became one of the most successful projects of the new season.

So far, officially Çağatay Ulusoy remains in the cast of the Kingfisher series, but the scriptwriter was hardly able to write something worthwhile in a couple of months, as you know, it can take more than one year to develop good script. However, given that he has several more TV shows and films on platforms, most likely, in the very near future, fans will hear about the star’s new work.
