The Medyapım company, familiar to viewers from the TV series “The girl named Feriha”, “Our Story”, “Forbidden Fruit”, “Unfaithful” and many others, is preparing to adapt the script of the famous American series “Queen Sugar”. What do we know about the show right now?

Fox TV shows have not received much attention from Turkish viewers this season, except for the ever-successful hit Forbidden Fruit, which has continued to captivate audiences for six years now. It seems that in the winter-spring season of 2023, the channel’s management will completely update its broadcasting schedule, offering more than a dozen new series.

For several years now, the most reliable partner of the channel has been the Medyapım company and its producer Fatih Aksoy, who traditionally provides Fox TV with several shows. Mr. Aksoy prefers to make remakes of Korean, Japanese and American series. This time he did not change his old habit.

As it became known, the company Medyapım bought the rights to adapt the series “Queen Sugar”, which was produced by Ofra Winfrey. The remake will be directed by Neslihan Yeşilyurt. Negotiations are underway with Ekin Mert Daymaz and Selin Yeninci to star in the show. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Natalie Baszile. The plot revolves around two sisters who return to their native land to inherit a sugarcane plantation.
