Netflix captures Turkish film market

According to Medyatava agency, an agreement to sell the rights to the screening of the film “Organize İşler 2 Sazan Sarmalı” was reached with Netflix last year. Moreover, the agreement clearly stipulated that Netflix has the right to release the film on the platform 6 weeks after the start of the New Year. We remind you that originally it was supposed to release Yılmaz Erdoğan’s comedy on January 1 and a month and a half for distributors will be more than enough. But then there was a crisis in the industry, because of which the release of films was delayed. BKM management warned distributors that they were at risk of being late, moreover, Yılmaz Erdoğan announced this on television (not to mention, however, that the film had already been sold). However, the distributor did not make concessions. Moreover, he did not warn cinema owners how serious it is. The result was not long in coming – the problem hit the head like snow in winter.

Besides of Yilmaz Erdoğan, an agreement with Netflix was concluded by Şahan Gökbakar (film Recep İvedik 6), Cem Yilmaz (Karakomik Filmler) and Mahsun Kırmızıgül. Mahsun’s film “Mucize Aşk 2” was to be released in Turkish cinemas on March 1, but postponed until September. The release of the films of Cem Yilmaz and Şahan Gökbakar is questionable, the dates have not been named. When the movies appear on Netflix is not yet clear.
