Paper Lives and Fatma are Turkey’s most successful Netflix projects

The Turkish version of Fortune magazine reports that the digital platform Netflix has created a special investment plan for the production of films and TV series in Turkey. The management of the company will announce its further plans in a special communiqué. In particular, it is planned to open a Turkish office by the end of 2021, as well as create its own film studio.

Director of strategic development  of Netflix Turkey Pelin Mavili and Director of Communications of Netflix Artanç Savas indicated that the spread of Turkish content to new territories is contributing to a significant increase in tourism to Turkey from viewers interested in the country’s culture and attractions. According to research, most of the respondents admitted that they had never thought about Turkey, and even more so about the opportunity to visit it before watching Turkish TV series on Netflix.

Netflix’s representatives announced that the most popular projects of recent times were the series Fatma starring Burcu Biricik, which entered the list of the most popular projects in 36 countries, as well as the film Paper Lives starring Çağatay Ulusoy, which was in the top 10 Netflix (films and TV series) in 47 countries of the world, including France, Argentina, Austria, UAE, Spain, Israel, Mexico, Egypt, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Greece, Venezuela, etc.

Among the Turkish projects that Netflix will release in the near future are the second season of the Love 101 series, the third season of the Gift series, as well as the Yakamoz S-245 series starring Kıvanç Tatlitug, and films such as Last Summer, Love Me Strongly and Hate.
