Çağatay Ulusoy signs third contract with Netflix

As of the first half of 2021, Paper Lives / Kağıttan Hayatlar, starring Çağatay Ulusoy, is the 23rd most popular Netflix movie that premiered this year and the 6th most popular non-English language film on the platform. This is the best result for Turkish cinema in the world so far. The previous record on Netflix belonged to the film Miracle in the cell N7 starring Aras Bulut İynemli that were on the 77th position in 2020.

It is not surprising that Çağatay is the leading star of Turkish Netflix. In 2019 in an interview with Variety he said that the platform would change the Turkish show business, and it seems that the actor’s prediction began to come true. After finishing work on the series Yeşilçam Çağatay will start filming the Netflix movie. This will be the third collaboration between the Turkish star and the international streaming giant.
