New TV series Yavuz: Ruler of the World

Yavuz: Ruler of the World / Yavuz Cihan Hükümdarı

It was reported that the CY Media company, which is part of the CY Grup conglomerate, closely associated with the Turkish authorities, is preparing not only the most expensive film in the history of Turkish cinema Yavuz – the sword of justice / Yavuz – Adaletin Kılıcı about the life of Sultan Selim Yavuz, but also a series.

Recall that the film will be shot in Morocco at Atlas Studios in 2022. Both Turkish and foreign actors will take part in it. Produced by Halit Arabacı. The casting is currently underway for the film, which will be released in 2023. The leading actor in the series and the film is already known, but his name is kept in the strictest confidence.

The name of the series is Yavuz: Ruler of the World / Yavuz Cihan Hükümdarı. By tradition, the creators promise that this project will become the most expensive in the history of Turkish TV series production. Taking into account the experience of its predecessors, the creators of the project brought in the best script group in the genre of historical series, headed by Serdar Özönalan. They  worked on such hits as Resurrection Erturul and Awakening: The Great Seljuks.

The creators of the series and the film decided to turn to the most famous historians (including academics) who advise the film crew. Recall that a few years ago, President of the country Recep Tayyip Erdogan sharply criticized the creators of the Magnificent Century series, who did not adhere to historical accuracy, showing Sultan Suleyman. It looks like this time the state order will be executed in strict accordance with the wishes of the authorities. The series will consist of 4 seasons.
